Standard Grip Stocks: LAW483 M1 Garand Buttplate Pad Stock

"Chiz45 had law483.com customize the USGI synthetic stock. LAW483 shortened the butt stock per request, filled in the hinge area and installed a M1 Garand butt plate. He filled in the selector cutout and evened out the top surfaces of the stock. He installed a Harris bipod and a Rooster33 cheek rest as well. The bipod, stock, cheek rest and hand guard were all painted an environmental friendly sand color. A little judicious sanding of the top surface resulted in perfect lock up between the trigger group, receiver and stock, very nice. The total result is nothing short of outstanding. This rifle fits chiz45 perfectly."

The customer chose a Rooster 33 cheek rest for an excellent stock weld during scoped firing. The M1 Garand butt-plate installation decreased the LOP by 1/4" and included filling the hinge recess. The orange peel texture is a light texturing added under the color coat to diffuse the light as well as give an improved grip. The GI checkering was retained and was taped-off during the texturing to prevent clogging. A Harris No. 5 adapter was used in the front sling swivel depression to mount the bipod. The Harris bipod has an integral mount to relocate the sling swivel. Another option is to fill the depression and mount two Uncle Mike's sling swivel studs.

Chiz45 and I tried out your stock in his Smith, Ltd. M14 today. It is outstanding work. We both like it.
